Tampa Bay Newspapers: Jonas Brothers Brings Look Me In The Eyes Tour To Tampa
TAMPA - The chart-topping pop music sensations Jonas Brothers bring their first headlining, highly successful Look Me In The Eyes Tour to St. Pete Times Forum on Saturday, March 8, 7 p.m.
They have been selling out all over the country and fans have been lining up the night before hoping for a chance at the best seats. The Jonas Brothers current self-titled album (the highly anticipated follow-up to the New Jersey siblings’ 2006 debut—which featured the TRL hit “Mandy”) came in at No. 5 on the Billboard Top 200 Album chart. Their single “S.O.S.” shot straight to the top of iTunes and the video was constantly on MTV’s TRL Countdown. It’s a high-energy pop-punk disc overflowing with insanely catchy hooks, muscular guitar fuzz and mature songwriting that reveals just how much growing up the boys have done.
The brothers say their writing reveals a lifetime of influences—everything from My Chemical Romance to the Backstreet Boys to Weird Al Yankovic. Still, what you really hear from the Jonas Brothers is the sound of three young musicians finding their own voice—their own distinctive blend of Nick’s way with an R&B vocal, Joe’s love of danceable beats and Kevin’s obsession with guitar solos.
The band is currently in the studio preparing for their much anticipated third album. They have co-written the entire album and its being produced by John Fields. The album is scheduled to be released in July 2008.
Reserved seat tickets are $50, $40 and $30, plus taxes, service and handling charges. Tickets are available online at www.livenation.com and all Ticketmaster Outlets. To charge by phone, call 727-898-2100 in Pinellas County; 813-287-8844 in Tampa; or 407-839-3900 in central Florida.----------
PR-Inside: Jonas Brothers To Boycott EMI Record Deal?
American pop band THE JONAS BROTHERS are considering snubbing a contract with industry giants EMI - because big name acts have already left the crisis-stricken record label.
EMI were bought out last year (07) by capital group Terra Firma and the label has since seen the exit of a host of important artists including Radiohead, the Rolling Stones and Sir Paul McCartney.
And now The Jonas Brothers' label Disney has expressed concerns over EMI's ability to market their new album and could strip the company of its global distribution rights.
Disney's profitable international rights, which also include both the Hannah Montana and High School Musical franchises, could now be awarded to Universal Music Group, reports RollingStone.com.----------

BURBANK, Calif., Feb. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- As Hollywood and the rest of the nation embrace a greener way of living, Chevrolet is rolling out the green carpet for celebrities and young influencers at the first-ever "Chevy Rocks the Future" event, Feb. 19 at The Walt Disney Studios.
The event features a live performance by recording artists the Jonas Brothers, the teen sensations from the Disney Channel series "Hannah Montana," and U.S. tour, who have joined forces with Chevy to share their commitment to the environment with young people. Kevin, Joe and Nick Jonas own their own Chevrolet Tahoe 2 Mode Hybrid SUV, recently named "Green Car of the Year" by Green Car Journal. It boasts the same city fuel economy as a much-smaller, four-cylinder Toyota Camry.
The event will celebrate promises that have been made to preserve the environment, and will introduce attendees to Chevy's lineup of gas-friendly to gas-free vehicles, and GM's advanced green technologies, providing them with an insider's view of how they actually work.
More than 150 LA-area children, as well as a parent, won the opportunity to attend Chevy Rocks the Future online at Disney.com/RocktheFuture, through call-in contests on Radio Disney, and through Chevy's "Promise to Live Better!" educational campaign, an environmental outreach and awareness initiative to inspire schoolchildren in grades 4-8 in Los Angeles and Ventura counties to promise to make important changes in their daily lives that will help improve the environment and their world. ----------

Kansas City Star: Tween Heartthrobs The Jonas Brothers Are Poised To Leap From Disney's Magic Kingdom To Read-World Superstardom
[
FULL ARTICLE]
The topic was inevitable. It always comes up in conversations about cute boy bands. Hair.
A bunch of reporters were on a conference call with the Jonas Brothers, the newest teen idols in the burgeoning Disney stable of pop stars. And a woman from, naturally, Tiger Beat magazine, asked how much longer the three brothers are going to grow their hair.
"I just cut my hair, all gone," announced Nick Jonas, knowing that his curly mop is a hot topic on fan websites.
His brothers, on separate phone lines, sounded shocked.
"Kidding!" Nick said. "I cut it shorter. It was getting pretty long. And finally I woke up one morning and I was like ready to cut it. So we start fresh in the new tour, and premiering the new hair."
The new tour is the Jonas Brothers' next big step toward stardom. Last month, they finished 56 shows opening for Miley Cyrus, which may have been the most in-demand ticket in history for a pop tour.
This New Jersey-bred, Los Angeles-based trio is the '00s version of a boy band. Not only do they sing and play instruments, but they are using film and television to further their career.
Now that the Writers Guild strike has ended, the Jonas Brothers - who have appeared on Miley's "Hannah Montana" show - are poised to star in their own Disney Channel series. This summer, they'll appear in the theatrical film "Camp Rock" and release their third album.
In a 45-minute phone conversation, the trio - Kevin, 20; Joe, 18, and Nick, 15 - came across partly as excited young men and partly as patient if unpolished pros. They didn't say anything deep or profound (not that anyone expected them to). They did crack some spontaneous jokes (which was expected).
Their milieu is power pop, the stuff of `tween and teen female fantasy: dreams, heartache and "falling in love until the end of time." After triumphing on Radio Disney with the bright and bouncy "S.O.S." and "Hold On," their new single, the ballad "When You Look Me in the Eyes," is aimed at Top 40 radio, too - in other words, teen girls and their moms.
"One of our slogans for who we are is `living the dream,'" said Kevin Jonas. "So it's on all of our crew members' shirts in our tour, and it's a very big deal for us."----------
M Live: Jonas Brothers Winners
Hey all, thanks for entering our contest with The Press and WZZM-TV's "Take 5."
We had an overwhelming response! Close to 2,000 entries. That's incredible.
Right now, that puts Jonas Brothers ahead of Kid Rock. Who would have thunk it?
But was it our No. 1 contest?????
I went back to check our records, and it turns out Bob Seger is still our top contest. He kicked off his tour in Grand Rapids back November 2006.
A couple of weeks ago, when I was on the "Free Beer and Hot Wings" radio show on WGRD-FM (97.9), I mistakenly said Kid Rock was No. 1 at the time. Oops. Sorry about that.
If you're keeping track at home, here is the breakdown:
1. Bob Seger: 2,100
2. Jonas Brothers: 1,995
3. Kid Rock: 1,925
As for our Hannah Montana contest, those tickets were given away a little differently, so it does not factor into our top contests. But you know it would be in the same category as the Jonas Brothers.
Speaking of Kevin, Nick and Joe, it turns out Nick is your favorite. Your second choice was Kevin, then Joe. Not sure why you chose Nick, though. Care to share?
As for our winners, I'll select them and post them at 4:30 p.m. today. Catherine Behrendt and Stephanie Webb also will announce the winners during their "Take 5" show, which airs from 4:30-5 p.m. daily on WZZM-TV (Channel 13).
Take care, West Michigan.----------
Ecorazzi: The Jonas Brothers Help 'Chevy Rock The Future'
You know what they say: “Just a spoon full of sugar helps the medicine go down.” Well this afternoon, Chevy (the medicine) and Disney (the sugar) are teaming up for Chevy Rocks the Future at The Walt Disney Studios.
Chevy Rocks The Future will introduce attendees to Chevy’s lineup of gas-friendly vehicles and new green technology while treating them to the music (or something like that) of the Jonas Brothers. “Being eco-friendly is important to us,” said Nick Jonas. “We worked with our record label to come up with the first-ever CD-VU+ format, a 100-percent recyclable package.”
The Jonas Brothers have worked with Chevy before and drive the Chevy Tahoe 2 Mode Hybrid SUV- a car that Ecorazzi has deemed only mildly impressive. While the Tahoe 2 Mode gets substantially better mileage than other SUV’s in its class, its still is far from being the greenest hybrid out there. And why the hell does everyone need SUV’s anyway SERIOUSLY!!
Listen, the good thing about this showdown is that it really does encourage young people to think about the environment. Recently, Chevy started the Promise to Live Better educational campaign, which asked kids to make promises to live a more eco-friendly life by doing things like shutting off lights, using canvas bags and wasting less water. So far, more than 11,700 students have made promises in the classroom, and more than 26,000 people have made promises online.
So whether you’re going to Chevy Rocks the Future or not, grab your local preteen (or as Chevy calls them, “precustomer”) and teach them a thing or two about saving the world. I mean come on…WWJD (What Would The Jonas’ Do)?----------
Show Biz Spy: Jonas Brothers And Family Advertise Breakfast Kits
The Jonas Brothers pose with their whole family as they advertise a new US breakfast cereal.
The hit band is seen in their kitchen at home next to a box of Breakfast Breaks.
As well as rocker brothers Kevin, Joe and Nick, parents Denise and Kevin Sr. and baby brother Frankie can be seen in the advert, running now in magazines in America.
The teen favourites are featured on the box of the ESE Foods breakfast kit - which includes cereal, fruit and a drink.
“We’re on the road a lot and need to stay energized so we know how important breakfast is to starting the day,” said Kevin Jonas.
The kits cost $2.49 USD each.----------
M Live: Guess Who's Going To The Jonas Brothers
And the winners are....
-- Breanne Arnold of Zeeland,
-- Terri Torres of Rockford, and
-- Sarah Miller of Walker.
They are our three lucky winners of the Jonas Brothers contest sponsored by The Press and "Take 5" at WZZM-TV (Channel 13).
Each will receive four tickets to The Grand Rapids Press suite for the concert featuring Rooney and headline act the Jonas Brothers, 8 p.m. Thursday Van Andel Arena.
If you don't have tickets to the show, make sure to check my "Going Gonzo" blog for live updates from the concert beginning at 7:45 p.m. Thursday. You will be able to ask questions during the concert.
Thanks again to all who participated.
And thanks to WZZM and "Take 5's" Stephanie Webb and Catherine Behrendt for helping us out.
Oh, and as I reported earlier today, Nick was easily the fan favorite when I asked the question, "Who is your favorite Jonas Brother?"
For the record, Sarah and Breanne said their favorite was Kevin. And Terri said her favorite was Joe, as in "Joe Rox!"
But I received an e-mail from a fan, who said she was not surprised Nick ended up as West Michigan's favorite Jonas Brother.
Here is what she said:
"heyy ur question was why it everyone picking nick jonas has there
favortie jonas brother well i think that since the jonas brother relate
to a younger group of girls like ages: 12,13,14,15 etc. those girls are
going to choose the youngest guy to like, and since nick is cute and
has an amazing vioce their going to have crushes on him lol well on the
other hand im 15 and i love them all but i love joe jonas the most.
love, a jonas brother fan!!!!!!"
That's it for now.
I'll be busy watching American Idol tonight. The Top 12 men are singing. Please let me know what you think about this year's cast. I'll post your e-mails tomorrow.----------
Stuttgart Daily Leader: I Was Never That Young
Have you ever scene clips from the Elvis era? You know those ones you see of girls leaning over barricades with clasped hands crying and screaming trying to catch a glimpse of Elvis. Well I experienced that Friday night. Obviously Elvis has left the building but the Jonas Brothers have walked in.
I was approached a month ago about going to the Jonas Brothers concert with my sister, who was in turn taking my 8-year-old niece and a friend to said concert. I had never heard of the Jonas Brothers — I doubt I’ll soon forget their name though.
Obviously this was not music from my age group but more toward, I would say, 7-year-olds to 15-year olds. But the older girls amazed me in what they were wearing more than anything else. I’m talking hot pink fish net hose to mini skirts to short tops and let me remind you, it is not summer weather outside.
When the concert actually started — not the opening act that I also had never heard of — two 15-year-old girls in front of us grabbed each other and proceeded to jump up and down screaming. I looked over at my sister and we both started cracking up and it was then that I realized I was considered an old person to these girls.
These two girls did not sit down the whole concert. Every time the guys would seem an inch closer to the edge of the stage they would jump up and down and scream more. It was all too funny in my idea, but hey, who am I to judge.
Actually, the music was not that bad in my opinion, it was all good. It was way better than what I was imagining a month ago. Although my niece and her friend didn’t get up to dance at every song they only knew two I believe and made that known.
They enjoyed themselves very much and I had an eye opening experience into the world of the Jonas Brothers. Other than being called a Mom by a man sitting in front of me, it was all in good fun.----------
