Want to know how popular the Jonas Brothers are? Tickets to their concert scheduled for Feb. 11 at the Plaza Theatre sold out in less than 20 minutes.
Some girls even called the El Paso Times to see when we were going to interview the three brothers from New Jersey so they could set up a three-way call just to hear what the boys had to say.
The Jonas Brothers' quick shot to fame has even surprised the three musicians themselves.
"It feels absolutely amazing," said Kevin Jonas, 20, the eldest of the brothers. "This is all so brand new for us."
The surge in popularity is partly thanks to Disney, the megapower that has made stars out of young performers such as Miley Cyrus, Alyson Renae and Amanda Joy Michalka (better known as Aly and AJ), and Zac Efron.
In 2006, the Jonas Brothers -- the other two members are Joe, 18, and Nick, 15 -- were performing on the road with popular performers such as Jesse McCartney, the Veronicas and Aly & AJ. At the same time, the Disney Channel put the band's "Year 3000" video into heavy rotation.
"As soon as that happened, the song entered the Top 10 on iTunes and our MySpace comments doubled," Kevin Jonas said in a news release. "It was almost impossible to keep up with the new friend requests!"-Naomi [Oh Jonas! Admin]
