M Live: Jonas Brothers Ride Sudden Rocket To Fame
[FULL ARTICLE]
GRAND RAPIDS -- For the Jonas Brothers, the past few months have been like entering the "Twilight Zone."

In October, they hopped the bus with pal Miley Cyrus to open for her ridiculously hot, 56-city "Hannah Montana" tour. And somewhere along the way (was it Dec. 6 in Grand Rapids?), the trio of floppy-haired songsters went from being a somewhat struggling band of brothers to bonafide superstars.

From No. 1 hits ("S.O.S" struck gold on iTunes) to near-platinum record sales, Kevin, 20, Joe, 18, and Nick, 15, are tripping the light fantastic.

Earlier this month, the band became the youngest act to sign a deal with concert presenter Live Nation. The two-year, multimillion-dollar pact includes promoting 140 shows in theaters and arenas worldwide by the New Jersey-based brothers, starting Jan. 31 in Arizona. The tour includes a stop Thursday in Van Andel Arena.

"This is that new world we live in," Joe said in a recent media conference call by the brothers. "Lionel Ritchie said he used to do all the crazy stuff that (new artists) do, but no one knew about it. Today, he said, you can't leave your house without it possibly being on a live feed all across the world. We have to remember how much we are being watched, and we are trying to be the people our parents raised us to be."

Courier Press: Concert Review- Jonas Brothers
[FULL ARTICLE]
An almost sold-out crowd packed Roberts Stadium on Saturday night to see the Jonas Brothers — Joe, Kevin and Nick — fill the house with energetic, fun pop music.

The mostly teen and “tween” audience was excited before the show started; many people were already on their feet and chanting before the band took the stage. When the brothers began playing, however, they made it clear the show was not just about singing but also entertaining.

Along with running, sliding, cartwheeling and jumping off platforms, the brothers also performed some more complicated tricks, including spinning the mic stand. At one point, Joe snatched the mic off the stand while it was seemingly in mid-air. The acrobatics were interesting to watch and added to the exciting atmosphere.

Joe swaggers with the conviction of a seasoned rock star. Kevin, who played lead guitar, is very talented and was able to play the guitar and dance at the same time.

The Detroit News: Hold On!
Opening for Miley Cyrus' Best of Both Worlds tour, receiving a platinum record and enduring screaming girls at every stop do not spell success for Jonas Brothers' guitarist Kevin Jonas, 20.
"I don't even feel like we've made it yet," Jonas said. "I still feel like there's so much more we can do. But I'm really honored as to where we are."
The Jonas Brothers headline their own concert Saturday at the Fox Theatre in Detroit. The band released its self-titled, self-penned album to a No. 5 debut on the Billboard Top 200 album chart. Their single "S.O.S." landed at No. 1 on iTunes, and the video was frequently aired on MTV's "TRL."
Now that the Hollywood writers' strike is settled, the brothers -- who also include Joe, 18, and Nick, 16 -- will continue production on their new television show "J.O.N.A.S." And a still-untitled third album is set to be released July 8.
Next! talks to Kevin Jonas about the upcoming Detroit concert and the group's future.

Q . What would it take for you to consider yourself successful?
A . I'm really excited about this tour. It'll be one of our first headlining tours. Then we've got so much more. We're going to release the next record. We're going to do another summer tour. Then there's the TV show. I'm very excited for what the future has to hold.

Q . Are you going to play any new songs when you perform at the Fox Theatre?
A . We actually are going to be, and that's going to be very exciting for the kids to be able to hear some brand-new songs. After the first show, it'll be up on YouTube, and then all the other kids will know the lyrics to the songs (laughs). We're very excited to be back in Detroit so quickly. It's going to be awesome. We love it there, and I think it's going to be a real fun time.

Q . Do you have an opening band?
A . At the moment, we actually don't have an opener. It's "a night with." I'll let you know if it changes, but I think, at the moment, it's just us.

Q . What is the premise of "J.O.N.A.S."?
A . It stands for "Junior Operatives Networking As Spies." We're a band that plays music that's going undercover because they're international spies. It's a high-impact television show. We had to go through two weeks of martial arts training, and it was awesome. We got to hang from wires. I did the whole "Mission: Impossible," upside-down hanging, doing flips in the air above the floor thing. It was awesome.

Q . How will you fit your television show and music career into your schedule?
A . Once we're doing the show, we'll focus on the show. Maybe we'll be back in the studio when we're making the show. Then we'll be, maybe, doing fly dates over the weekend on tour. At the moment, we're just focusing on this tour that's going on right now.
